City of La Crosse’s new app picks super cool logo design that is not at all a total ripoff of anything

LA CROSSE, WIS — The City of La Crosse launched a brand new app Tuesday that features what some people are calling, “the greatest and most original logo design of all time.”

The city launched its LaCrosse311 app designed to both consolidate city services in one place, and also to confuse and confound the general populous over the age of 50.

However, somewhat overshadowing the launch was the public’s reaction to the app logo.

“It’s quite frankly a brilliant design,” said La Crosse resident Sandy Bagabonds. “The 2D, monotone shapes forming the iconic bridge, mirrored on the bottom, with the text in the middle… just an absolute beauty of a design that hasn’t been done over two years ago starting February 7, 2020.”

“I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before,” said La Crosse resident Layzee Illustraater. “Did Kwik Trip do something similar at some point? No…? I could have sworn this had to do with Kwik Trip, or a blue baby or Bodega or something… I just can’t put my finger on it.”

The strong reaction to the logo may be part of its appeal, according to officials.

“I know this is gonna sound crazy, but the first thing I thought of when I saw it was ‘gas station strip club,'” explained La Crosse common council member Terrence Reelywai. “No idea where that came from… Great logo though!”

The LaCrosse311 app is available for download on both Google Play and Apple App Store. Questions about the app can be directed to the nearest city employee you find sneaking a peek over someone else’s shoulder.
