BREAKING: La Crosse Bar Owner’s Shirt Couldn’t Be More Fucking Perfect

LA CROSSE, WIS — Breaking news out of the the north side of La Crosse, a bar owner’s shirt during a TV interview unintentionally made perfect karmic sense according to social media users.

Jeff Connelly, owner of Dewey’s Side Street Saloon, opened his establishment immediately following the state supreme court’s decision to strike down Wisconsin’s Safer At Home order extension. According to local TV reporting, only some patrons wore masks in the small dive bar. Critics have called the move reckless, dangerous and possibly one of the stupidest moves one could make in the midst of a pandemic.

Connelly later interviewed with WXOW, and wore what many people described as the perfect shirt to sum up his actions.

“I shit you not, the guy is wearing a shirt that says “I’m with Dumb Dumb” with thumbs pointing upwards while he explains why he’s opening up a brand new COVID-19 hotspot,” Facebook user Amber Steyer said. “You can’t make this shit up.”

In his WXOW interview, Connelly seems to completely ignore the dangers of asymptomatic spread and downplay the potential effects already observed in thousands of COVID-19 patients around the world:

“I’m not worried about that. I mean I’m at high risk too,” said Jeff Connelly who owns Dewey’s. “I’ve got the mask and everything like that, and you can only do so much. If you’re going to get it you’re going to get it. You can’t sit at home in a bubble until they come out with a vaccine because that’s a year or two away. So I’m just doing the best that I can.”

Dewey’s Side Street Saloon was joined by several others in the La Crosse area including Mike’s Logan Bar and Angelini’s Ristorante in opening immediately following the supreme court ruling.
