Punk Rocker Not Sure if Sign is for Religious Hate or Bitchin’ Show at The Warehouse

LA CROSSE, WIS — Local punk rocker, Franklin Tako, doesn’t know whether he should be angry or excited over a sign he saw at the corner of La Crosse Street and West Avenue earlier Saturday.

“I started reading the list and recognized a whole bunch of underground punk bands I love,” commented Tako. “So I was jacked that The Warehouse was putting up such a bitchin’ show!”

Tako is referring to The Warehouse, a unique all-ages concert venue located on the 3rd level of a historic building in downtown La Crosse, WI. Since 1991, The Warehouse has played host to over 10,000 bands gaining a great reputation for being one of the best places to see live bands in the Midwest. The Warehouse often has bills of 5+ bands, which generated the confusion for Tako.

“I noticed the people holding the sign were like my dad’s age and wearing suits,” added Tako, “but they also looked really pissed off at the world. I don’t know. I just don’t know what’s going on.”

When The La Crosse Times asked the sign holders for comment, the group offered no clarification by repeatedly responding “GOD WILL JUDGE YOU, SINNER!”

Tako shared that he’s going to go to The Warehouse this weekend anyway because he would never pass up the opportunity to see Porno Freaks, Rebellious Women, or Jesus Mockers.
